A prog rock concept album exploring the new age / metaphysical beliefs of the mid to late 90s. This album and Old World were recorded all together as a double concept album originally under the title of "Primal Distortions" between September 1997 and March 1998. There are a lot of shared musical and lyrical themes that still strongly link the two albums even though they were separated. If memory serves me correctly Old World would have more or less been sides 1 and 4 whilst Primal Distortions would have been made up of sides 2 and 3 of the double album. I mentally exhausted myself making this album to the point where I had a nervous breakdown at the end of the sessions!
For the longest time this album was a half remake from 2012 because some of the original mixes were missing or too lofi for my liking. Fast forward to the 2020's with the technology to algorithmically stem split recordings into mixable tracks, one can go back and remix things despite having lost the original multitrack masters. Once I got back a lot of the original mixes and lost songs (in 2022) I knew I had to bring this back in it's original running order!
